EN – Esther Sévérac’s solo compositions for concert harp are inspired by her classical harp background as well as her experience in improvised music. She tells imaginative stories about witches and alien dogs and creates unexpected sounds shifting between folk, classical and contemporary music.
The focus of her artistic work as a modern harpist is to overcome the angelic cliché of her instrument by pushing stylistic boundaries and experimenting with analog and digital effects. Read press release
DE – Esther Sévéracs Solo-Programm für Konzertharfe besteht aus Eigenkompositionen, die sowohl von ihrer klassischen Ausbildung als von ihrer Erfahrung in der improvisierten Musik inspiriert sind. Sie erzählt mitreissende Geschichten über Hexen und außerirdische Hunde, mit ungewöhnlichen Klängen die sich zwischen Folk, Klassik und Elektronik bewegen.
Durch die Kombination ihres Instruments mit analogen und digitalen Effekten lässt sie das Klischee des Engelsinstruments Harfe weit hinter sich. Zur Pressemitteilung
