EN – Professional harpist and harp teacher Esther Sévérac studied classical harp and pedagogy at the Music Academy Basel. Today she is mainly active in the field of improvised music and frequently works with composers. The focus of her artistic work as a modern harpist is to overcome the angelic cliché of her instrument by pushing stylistic boundaries and experimenting with analog and digital effects. She teaches private harp lessons in her own harp studio and harp didactics at the Music Academy Basel.
DE – Die professionelle Harfenistin und Pädagogin Esther Sévérac hat klassische Harfe an der Musikhochschule Basel studiert und ist eine der gefragtesten Harfenistinnen der Schweiz im Bereich der improvisierten Musik. Sie lebt in Basel und lässt das Klischee des Engelsinstruments Harfe weit hinter sich indem sie mit analogen und digitalen Effekten die stilistischen Grenzen ihres Instruments herausfordert. Sie gibt Harfenunterricht in ihrem eigenen Harfenstudio und ist Dozentin für Fachdidaktik Harfe an der Musikhochschule Basel.
